Buildings and Grounds has had an expert look at our church for repair items. The good news is the crack on the outside is not compromising the structure, and can be fixed. We do need to attend to some broken rafters in the attic and new sill on some windows. Christian Education reported they are ordering Bibles to give to kids on September 16th, which is the kick-off dinner and bingo evening. Kids will help us play bingo that day. Come for lasagne and homemade ice cream! Many fun events are planned for the kids this fall, including a pumpkin harvest! Church Life reported Wednesday night dinners, youth program and adult Bible study will continue each Wednesday from Sept 16th to November 11th. The Nominating Committee will be looking for two elders and some deacons to be elected at a congregational meeting Nov. 1. The Stewardship dinner is October 25th at 5:30 p.m. For the next three months while we have pastors from other churches doing Communion for us, we voted to use a modified intinction, where everyone will come forward but receive an individual cup and pre-sliced piece of bread. Contact Karen Barbour, clerk (jakabarbour@gmail.com) or John Hartman, Deron Beck, Danny Renfro, Brad Watson, Jeanie Kearney, or Laurea and Jim Howell if you have any questions or ideas for Session.

Your Session is working hard to make sure all bases are covered during Pastor Charlie’s Sabbatical. We have a full slate of people for pulpit supply during that time, including some of our own church family! Fall programs will start on Wednesday, September 16 with a kickoff dinner, homemade ice cream and bingo. John Hartman, Buildings and Grounds, has been pursuing ways to fix water issues around sills. Work is continuing on improving technology issues. We will have a congregational meeting July 26 to vote on the new bylaws and on a Nominating Committee. Contact Karen Barbour, clerk (kbarbour@gmail.com) or any Session member (Jean Kearney, Jim and Laurea Howell, John Hartman, Deron Beck, Danny Renfro, Brad Watson) with questions or ideas.

Currently serving on Session are: Karen Barbour (clerk), Deron Beck, John Hartman, Jim and Laurea Howell, Jeanie Kearney, Danny Renfro and Brad Watson. We have been working hard to get the church bylaws updated so they can help guide our faith community as we move forward. We will be bringing them to you for a vote on Sunday, July 26th right after church. We will also have a Nominating Committee for you to vote on at that time. We want to hear from you with any concerns or ideas about anything in our church! You can contact Karen (jakabarbour@gmail.com) with a message for Session or use your directory to contact any Session member directly.
